Lenovo Debuts its first Series 60 based smart phone at 3GSM World Congress
February 14th – 3GSM World Congress 2005, CANNES, FRANCE - China's leading mobile handset manufacturer Lenovo unveiled its newly-developed smart phone P930 at the 3GSM World Congress 2005. The P930 is Lenovo’s first smart phone for the Chinese market that adopts Nokia's Series 60 Platform, the world's leading smart phone platform. The P930 features an appealing clamshell design, an easy to use pen-input interface in addition to normal keypad input, the former being the most popular on the Chinese market, a 1.3 megapixel camera with LED flash, video recording capability, Bluetooth connectivity, a miniUSB and a removable SD/MMC memory card. The phone supports a series of applications, such as GPS navigation, Net-TV, and several others. GPS navigation enables P930 users to access maps of over 100 cities across China. It also provides the Net-TV application, which allows owners to choose and watch several CCTV (China Central Television) channels while on the move. What’s more, the P930 supports the IGRS standard (Intelligent Grouping and Resource Sharing), that makes devices discover and connect to each other automatically. The P930, Lenovo's first mobile handset using the Symbian OS and Series 60 Platform, will be available during 2005.

“The P930 will be Lenovo’s flagship smart phone with impressive and compelling features and applications that are designed to attract demanding consumers who require only the best,” said Mr. Zeng Guozhang, the General Manager in charge of the product department at Lenovo mobile. “Together, the Series 60 Platform and Symbian OS form a very powerful base for Lenovo’s latest innovation in its smart phone portfolio.”

“The P930 by Lenovo shows how a Series 60 licensee can add a vast amount of unique features and functions to the platform and develop products that truly stand out from the competition. Lenovo is a pioneer in the Chinese smart phone market and the P930 with the Series 60 Platform adheres to Lenovo’s mission of designing innovative, best-of-breed products for its customers,” said Antti Vasara, Vice President, Mobile Software Sales and Marketing, Nokia.

Lenovo, China's leading IT Corporation and mobile handset manufacturer, has been engaged in the research and development of smart phones for seven consecutive years and its current smart phones, such as the ET180, ET280 and G901, have been well received by customers. By taking the national lead in introducing the world's leading smart phone platform, the Series 60 along with the P930 smart phone, Lenovo is poised to strengthen its leading position in mobile handset production in China.

The 3GSM Cannes World Congress 2005, the GSM Association’s official annual event, will be held from February 14th until February 17th 2005, in Cannes, France.
